How We Use Your Information

Field Notes by Email

If you request Field Notes, we record your email address, the time and source of your request, and the consent text you accepted. Buttondown handles email confirmation and delivery. A request starts unconfirmed; you must confirm your address before a new subscription becomes active. You can unsubscribe through links in the emails.

We keep the original consent record separately from the provider’s current confirmation and suppression status. Consent records are private and excluded from public animal information and the AI gateway. A contribution does not sign you up for the newsletter.

Stripe collects payment information on its hosted checkout. The ranch site stores checkout request and session information needed to avoid duplicate requests. It does not store payment card details.

The support form retains a checkout attempt in session storage so it can be retried safely. Newsletter retry data stays in page memory. The private field console stores its offline queue separately; public signup and checkout responses are not cached by its service worker.
